Rundgang. Der Rundgang durch Schloss Ehrenburg führt über das Treppenhaus zunächst in das zweite Obergeschoss (Familiensaal, Riesensaal, Thronsaal, Gemäldegalerien, Appartement des Herzogs u.a.) und anschließend in die Wohnräume der Herzogin im ersten Obergeschoss. Herzog Johann Ernst von Sachsen-Coburg (1521-1553) ließ Schloss Ehrenburg zwischen 1543 und 1547 anstelle eines aufgelösten Franziskanerklosters erbauen. Da die Anlage ohne Frondienste errichtet worden war, soll Kaiser Karl V. das Gebäude als „Ehrenburg" betitelt haben. Es wurde 1690 zur barocken Dreiflügelanlage erweitert.
